Create a Powerful Safety Net For Our Most Vulnerable!

Lack of affordable housing and rising prices have created a perfect storm in Massachusetts. Recently, a cap was put on the number of shelter beds in the state. Right now, there is a waiting list for shelter.

This means people have nowhere to go, no respite from the cold.

And if you have a dog, they're typically not allowed in shelters and finding housing is that much more challenging. Pet families are forced to sleep in their car, in a tent or worse - on the street.

Donating to the Kane's Krusade Pet Family Housing Initiative (PFHI) empowers us to advocate for vulnerable pet families in need of housing and assist those with emotional support animals and service animals.

We assist pet families in three housing areas:

Disabled veterans and their dogs

Provide a comprehensive range of services including dog food, equipment, veterinary care and spay/neuter assistance including the next two focus areas

Select this option if you would like your donation to go directly to a veteran pet family.

Short term motel stays

Keeps families off the streets by providing a bridge to shelter options and long term housing

Emergency Canine Assistance, Resource and Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) Kits

Delivered to unhoused and domestic violence survivor pet families including:

  • dog food and equipment
  • vet care
  • vaccinations
  • spay/neuter assistance
  • 1 on 1 dog training

Your generous donation empowers Kane's Krusade to respond when vulnerable pet families need us most. Thank you!

The video featured captures the reunion of Brian, a disabled vet, with Arya, his emotional support animal. Brian urgently needed to be hospitalized but refused to be admitted until Arya was in a safe place. Working in partnership with Porter Road Pet Care in East Longmeadow, MA, Kane's Krusade boarded Arya and sponsored a vet visit and vaccinations.
